First Headstands

At the park with Amaya!

Noah and I had a blast at the park and library today (our favorite cold weather haunts). Not only were there more kids than usual, our friend Amaya came along! She was such a huge help with Noah. He loves her like craZy. She took on the rope tower with great courage though my pics don't do it justice. I'm so thankful to have Amaya in our lives.

Legos + Nativity = Excellent Advent Celebration

Thanks to "Moe" (Oklahoma grandma), we have this awesome playmobil nativity set. Every night this month we have read a part of the Christmas story together, each night the story gets a little longer, bringing in a new character or piece of the story. So every night, we re-read the previous portion and add a new sentence and a new Lego that comes out of a little bag with that night's number on it. Noah loves this because he gets a new toy each night and he is learning the story well enough to fill in the blanks for us as we read. I've also overheard him playing pretend with various toys saying things like, "Come on, Buzz Lightyear! Lets go find that baby!" I wouldn't say things are too clear yet, but we are hopeful. My main concern lies in our ability to teach more than his to learn. :)

I also included a pic of Eva after our advent time. I think she was sad that she slept through it tonight.

Fall brings fun

Robbie raked up some leaves and made piles for Noah. The neighborhood kiddos couldn't resist. Who can blame them? Noah was glad to have some one to be silly with besides mom & dad anyway.

Two Months of Eva

I couldn't decide how to measure her growth... So I have pics with her bunny and in our chair and with her little month shirts. Whatever. We'll figure it out eventually. I just wish I were a better photographer so I could capture her true cuteness!

No Mistletoe Required

Noah loves kissing Eva, but this day he realllly wanted to hold her, which was kind of a first. He was trying to pick her up out of her bouncy seat which I explained to Noah was unwise since she is almost as big as he is (isn't is strange how that works? With her just two months and him two YEARS old?!).

So I got them seated together finally and I love the progression that follows. Cute laughter to start and then Eva sliding, sliding and looking nervous.

Happy Bir-py, Peepah!

Did I ever post this little bit of awesomeness?  This was back at Noah's Oklahoma grandma's birthday.  We were trying to send a simple, sweet little message- but got a whole lot of Noah's incredibly random sense of humor.  Can I tell you how much I. Love. This. Kid?

(By way of explanation, he has a little toy that teaches him letters and how to spell his name.  So he is spelling (part of) his name - "O-A-H" and then finishes with "apple!" Because the toy teaches him that "a" is for apple.  Don't know why he decided to put these together, but that's the best explanation I've got.  The lion roar is all his.  Have no idea where that came from. Oh, and "Peepah" is what he calls his grandparents - both of them.  Grandma and grandpa = Peepah.  There you have it.)

Thanksgiving fun

We started the day with a great time at our favorite park. Robbie ran some laps around the pond, Noah rode in the stroller, Eva slept and I was the designated stroller. Noah had some good time to get his wiggles out before a long evening of eating, visiting, and, for him, movie watching.

We finished the day with a nice visit and an absolute feast. We were thankful for more than the food. Our family means so much to us. If only we could have met with our OK family, what a day it would have been!

Laundry Day

Our clean laundry - oh, my!

"Dat's Jesus."

Noah and Robbie reading about Jonah:

Noah: "Dat's Jesus."

Robbie: "No, that's the king of the Assyrians."

Good luck with that, Noah.  Good luck.

Costume Party with the Comm Group

Love these crazy folks!
Hobbits, newly weds, wild things, and airplane pilots. Oh, and the queen AND the president made appearances.

Happy 2nd Birthday, cousin M!

A sweet time with Noah & Eva's cousin. I was so happy that she really seemed to love the sweet little bear we gave her! It had the perfect neck for hugging and cuddling. The babydoll and mini stroller were a big hit! Gotta remember that when Eva gets older.
